AER and Shoptalk Europe launch collaboration to strengthen the international visibility of the Spanish retail ecosystem

Barcelona, 4 June 2024: The Spanish Retail Association (AER) and Shoptalk Europe have launched a collaboration aimed at strengthening visibility, connections and knowledge exchange between the Spanish retail ecosystem and one of Europe’s leading international retail and tech show.

Taking place in Barcelona 9-11 June this year, the collaboration has been created to connect Shoptalk Europe’s global reach and international community with the knowledge, experience and reality of the Spanish retail ecosystem, bringing global conversations and insights closer to companies and professionals across the sector.

The partnership combines Shoptalk Europe’s international scale, bringing together more than 4,500 professionals from 62 countries in Barcelona, with one in three attendees holding C-suite or senior leadership positions, with AER’s extensive expertise and deep understanding of the Spanish retail ecosystem, bringing together retailers, technology and service companies, academic institutions and industry organisations.

For companies and brands operating in an increasingly fragmented and demanding consumer environment, this collaboration represents an opportunity to connect with decision-makers across retail, technology, innovation and brand strategy in one place.

Both organisations also share a common vision focused on advancing innovation through practical and applicable insights, promoting conversations, knowledge and experiences with real impact for the sector.
As part of this collaboration, Shoptalk Europe will introduce for the first time a fully Spanish-language session within its official programme, focused on the Spanish retail market, taking place on June 10th in Barcelona under the title:

“Driving Innovation and Unlocking Growth in Spain”
The session will bring together executives and leaders from some of Spain’s most relevant retail and consumer companies to share how they are building distinctive growth models from Spain towards national and international markets.

Participants in the roundtable will include:
• Isabelle Aberman, CEO of Majorica
• Isabel Cervelló Piñol, Co-Managing Director & COO of MiiN Cosmetics
• Caroline Arrú du Caveda, Chief Marketing & Customer Officer of Grupo IskayPet
• Eloy Mariaud, Ecommerce & Digital Director of Casa del Libro

The session will be moderated by Rosa Pilar López, analyst, consultant and member of the Expert Committee of the Spanish Retail Association (AER).

Additionally, on June 11th, AER will also have a dedicated presence within the Shoptalk Europe programme.

During this session, Domingos Esteves, Coordinator of AER’s Expert Committee, will introduce the role of the association and its contribution to the retail sector, while Mar Melero, member of the Expert Committee, will share perspectives on emerging trends and the future evolution of retail.

AER member companies will also gain access to selected special conditions and opportunities related to Shoptalk Europe including  access to its ‘Meetup’platform that facilitated more than 25,000 meetings between retail professionals and companies last year.

AER will also gain direct access to some of the industry's most influential voices, including more than 180 speakers and business leaders, among them CEOs and senior executives from companies such as Zalando, Arc'teryx, Christian Louboutin, Vestiaire Collective, Sephora and The Estée Lauder Companies.
